Project Management Services for Building

“The time and stress taken to organise and run a building project is often underestimated. Unfortunately, this is often only realised once the homeowner has become out of their depth, and the cost of extras is increasing.”

Our building project management services are tailored to each client and their unique project.  Nick Lane brings over 30 years experience in building to help homeowners prepare for and manage their building projects whether at the planning stage or build completion.

Each project is different with its own client requirements, budgets, problems and forms of build contracts, as well as varying degrees of client direct involvement. Nick Lane can tailor his role to suit the needs of your specific build project, whether New Houses, Extensions, Refurbishments or just Planning & Advice.

Our Building Project Management Service

From initial thoughts of a new building project to the complete build, all aspects of work. Let me bring my building expertise to as much or as little as you need. I strive to obtain the best ‘finished product’ at the best price and, equally importantly, as stress-free for the client as possible.

From Project Conception to Completion

My involvement in a project can start Pre Planning or prior to the Commencement of Building Works. Such as site inspection pre-purchase, liaise with architect & engineers, help to identify and agree on materials, particular design improvements and satisfying the planning permission conditions. I can tailor my service to suit any or all aspects of work, and to suit the client’s individual requirements. With services ranging from background support to a self-build client to a full project management service.

In a typical project I would liaise closely with the client from the start, visiting the site regularly and keeping a watchful eye on everything from cost and schedule to quality control. And help guide the client on choices with an eye to costs, practicality and workability.

What are the Benefits of a Project Manager to the Client

Nick Lane can source the Architect, Structural Engineer, trades and materials etc. as required for your project. He can ensure the project is completed on time and to specification. He can oversee and manage all aspects of the project. You retain control with him acting on your behalf.

You as the client are confident that the project is being run professionally, so reducing the stress and strain of the day to day running of the build to yourself and your family.

Savings can be made in various ways using a project managers services, from the cost of materials to the negotiation of quotes from subcontractors and build quotes, to cost-effective design, choice of materials and timeliness of trades. Target timescales and budgets are set at the beginning and, unless the client changes these, these are set to project completion.

What are the Costs of Using a Building Project Manager?

Nick’s charges are dependent on the size of the building project and the extent of his role. Most often his costs are far less than the savings he can bring to the construction, in product choices, trades management and timeliness.
